Love Calculator

Enter two names and get a fun compatibility score in seconds. Just for fun — the same pair always gets the same result.

Good to know

  • This is 100% for entertainment — names don't determine real compatibility. It's the same idea as the classic FLAMES game.
  • The score is deterministic: the same two names always produce the same number, so you can't keep rerolling for a better result.
  • Real compatibility comes from communication, shared values and mutual respect — none of which fit in a calculator!

How the score is worked out

The calculator combines the two names into a single string, then runs them through a simple, stable hash function. The hash turns the letters into a number, which is mapped to a 0–100% score. Because the same input always hashes to the same value, you'll always get the same result for the same pair — there's no randomness involved.

It's a bit of fun, the same way the playground "FLAMES" game was. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere; it all runs in your browser.

What your score means

Here's our (entirely unscientific) breakdown:

80–100%: a great match
The calculator is feeling generous. Celebrate the fun result — and remember real chemistry is built, not computed.
50–79%: promising potential
A solid score with room to grow. As with anything, what you put in is what you get out.
0–49%: opposites attract?
A lower number from a name game means nothing at all. Plenty of great relationships would "fail" this test — it's purely for laughs.
